ZeroCarbonDrive is an independent online publication covering electric vehicles, clean energy, carbon-reduction technology, electric aviation, and the wider shift to low-carbon transport. We publish explainers, comparisons, and analysis for readers who want to understand where mobility and energy are heading.

What we cover

  • Electric vehicles – battery technology, charging, range, cost of ownership, and model comparisons.
  • Clean energy & charging – renewable power, grid integration, vehicle-to-grid, and home charging.
  • Carbon emissions & climate – lifecycle and well-to-wheel emissions, carbon accounting, and reduction pathways.
  • Electric aviation & future mobility – eVTOL, hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, and next-generation transport.

How we work

Our articles are researched against primary and authoritative sources, including the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), national energy agencies such as the U.S. Department of Energy and NREL, peer-reviewed research, and manufacturer technical documentation. Where a claim depends on a specific figure, we link to the source so readers can check it.

Technology and policy in this field move quickly. We review and update our cornerstone guides as the underlying data changes, and the “last updated” date on each article reflects the most recent substantive revision.

Who we are

ZeroCarbonDrive is written and edited by Muhammet Çay, its founder and editor. He is not an automotive engineer, an electrician or a tax adviser, and this site does not pretend otherwise. The work here is research and editing: reading the primary documents — the IRS, the Department of Energy, the EPA and EIA, NHTSA, and the utilities’ own rebate paperwork — and writing them up in plain language, with every figure traced back to the document it came from. Where sources contradict each other, the article says so and shows which one is current. The site is independently owned and is not affiliated with any automaker, charging network, utility, or aviation company. We have no investment positions in the companies we write about, and we do not accept payment for coverage.

How we handle numbers

Most disagreements about clean transport come down to assumptions, so we try to make ours visible. When we compare emissions we say whether the figure is tailpipe-only, well-to-wheel, or full lifecycle, and which grid mix it assumes. When we compare costs we state the electricity and fuel prices used, the annual mileage, and the ownership period. When we quote a range or charging time we say which test cycle (EPA, WLTP, or CLTC) and which charger power it refers to. If a figure is an estimate or a projection, we label it as one.

Our topic hubs

The site is organised around a handful of cornerstone guides that we keep current, with shorter articles branching off them:

  • Electric vehicles – cost of ownership, charging at home and on the road, battery life, and how EVs compare with hybrids and combustion cars.
  • Carbon emissions & climate – how transport emissions are measured, compared by country and vehicle type, and reduced.
  • Energy storage & grid – batteries beyond the car, renewable charging, and vehicle-to-grid.
  • Electric aviation – eVTOL air taxis, hybrid-electric aircraft, hydrogen propulsion, and certification progress.
  • Smart urban mobility – traffic systems, public transport, micromobility, and autonomous vehicles.
  • Green logistics & freight – electric trucks and vans, shipping, and supply-chain decarbonisation.

Our editorial policy explains in more detail how articles are sourced, produced, reviewed, and corrected.
