ZeroCarbonDrive exists to explain clean transportation clearly and accurately. This page describes how our content is researched, produced, and corrected.
Who is responsible for this site
ZeroCarbonDrive is owned, written and edited by Muhammet Çay, its founder and editor (LinkedIn). One named person is accountable for everything published here, including the mistakes. If something on this site is wrong, there is a person to tell, and the contact page reaches him directly.
How we source information
Our articles draw on primary and authoritative sources: the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), ICAO and IATA for aviation, the U.S. EPA and Department of Energy, national statistics agencies, peer-reviewed research, and manufacturers’ official technical documentation. Where figures matter, we link to the source so readers can verify them directly. We do not invent statistics, and we do not cite sources we have not checked.
How content is produced
ZeroCarbonDrive uses modern research and writing tools, including AI assistance, combined with editorial review. Every published guide follows the same standard: claims must trace to a verifiable source, comparisons must state their assumptions, and forecasts are labeled as projections rather than facts.
Updates and corrections
Clean-transport data changes quickly. Reference pages and statistics articles carry a visible “last updated” date and are revised as new annual data is released. If you spot an error, please report it via our contact page — verified corrections are made promptly and material corrections are noted in the article.
Independence and advertising
Editorial content is not written to promote any specific manufacturer or product. If sponsored or affiliate content ever appears on this site, it will be clearly labeled as such.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools for research assistance, drafting, and copy-editing. They do not decide what we publish or which sources we trust. Every article is checked by a human editor before it goes live, and the standards above apply regardless of how a draft was produced: figures must trace to a named source, comparisons must state their assumptions, and anything that cannot be verified is cut. We do not publish auto-generated content without review.
Review cadence
Cornerstone guides (for example our guides to EV cost of ownership, home charging, and lifecycle emissions) are reviewed at least once a year and whenever a major data release changes the picture, such as new IEA Global EV Outlook figures, EPA fuel-economy data, or updated grid-emission factors. Shorter articles are reviewed when a reader reports an issue or when they are linked from an updated guide. Articles that no longer add anything beyond a cornerstone guide are merged into it and redirected rather than left to go stale.
What we do not do
- We do not rank products or services in exchange for payment.
- We do not accept sponsored articles presented as editorial content.
- We do not publish statistics we cannot trace to a source.
- We do not use stock claims such as “studies show” without naming the study.
